🔍Why most skylight problems are flashing problems

When a skylight leaks, people assume the unit has failed. Nine times out of ten it's the flashing — the metal collar that ties the skylight into the surrounding roof. Done poorly at installation, or left unmaintained, the flashing lets water track in around the skylight, not through it. We re-flash and re-seal leaking skylights properly, and where a unit genuinely is old or cracked we replace it with a modern, efficient one. Either way the fix is in the detail.
